(Photo by Kevin Dietsch\/Getty Images)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>OAN Staff\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.oann.com\/tag\/chloe-hauxwell\">Chloe Hauxwell<\/a><br \/>7:08 PM \u2013 Friday, March 13, 2026<\/p>\n<p>U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia Jeanine Pirro has reacted to a ruling from U.S. District Judge James Boasberg blocking a pair of grand jury subpoenas targeting the Federal Reserve.<\/p>\n<p>On Friday, Pirro gave the update on her criminal investigation into chairman Jerome Powell, calling the ruling \u201coutrageous.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cJerome Powell is now bathed in immunity,\u201d she fumed. \u201cThis is wrong, and it is without legal authority.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>She revealed that she will be appealing the ruling and also making a motion to reconsider.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Powell is accused of making false testimony to Congress about renovations to the Federal Reserve headquarters in Washington D.C.<\/p>\n<p>Judge Boasberg claimed there was not probable cause to issue the subpoenas and that they were merely meant to pressure Powell into voting for lower interest rates or resigning.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cDid prosecutors issue those subpoenas for a proper purpose? The Court finds that they did not,\u201d Boasberg wrote in the decision in U.S. District Court in Washington, which was dated Wednesday, but unsealed on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere is abundant evidence that the subpoenas\u2019 dominant (if not sole) purpose is to harass and pressure Powell either to yield to the President or to resign and make way for a Fed Chair who will,\u201d the judge wrote.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOn the other side of the scale, the Government has offered no evidence whatsoever that Powell committed any crime other than displeasing the President,\u201d Boasberg wrote.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Stay informed!
