\u00a0<\/span>(Washington, DC)<\/b> \u2013 Judicial Watch announced today that it filed a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit <\/a><\/span>against the U.S. Department of Justice for all records linking Norm Eisen to the FBI\u2019s Biden-era \u201cArctic Frost\u201d probe, specifically involving the Criminal Division, the Office of Information Policy, Attorney General Merrick Garland, Deputy Attorney General Lisa Monaco and Special Counsel Jack Smith\u2019s team (Judicial Watch, Inc. v. U.S. Department of Justice<\/a><\/span><\/i> (No. 1:26-cv-00746)).<\/p>\n

The \u201cArctic Frost<\/span><\/a>\u201d investigation was an FBI probe opened in April 2022 that targeted<\/span><\/a>\u00a0over 430 Republicans, including President Donald Trump\u2019s campaign committees, and the Republican National Committee. It secretly subpoenaed phone records and metadata from Trump and at least 10 Republican senators. The investigation was transferred to Special Counsel Jack Smith.<\/p>\n

Progressive, activist attorney Norm Eisen\u2019s States United Democracy Center<\/span><\/a> (formerly the Voter Protection Program) was accused<\/span><\/a> of helping to develop legal theories and materials related to the prosecution of alternate slates of Republican electors in the 2020 election.<\/p>\n

The lawsuit was filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia after the Justice Department failed to respond to two November 10, 2025, FOIA requests, one to the Criminal Division and the other to the Office of Information Policy (\u201cOIP\u201d). Both requests specified:<\/p>\n

These records must reference both (1) the \u201cArctic Frost\u201d investigation (the FBI\u2019s codenamed investigation opened in April 2022 into alleged efforts to overturn the 2020 presidential election results, including fake electors schemes and related election interference activities); and (2) Norm Eisen (full name: Norman L. Eisen).<\/p>\n
