In time for Easter weekend, Vice President JD Vance has announced a new book about rediscovering his faith as a Catholic to be released this Summer.<\/p>\n

\u201cCommunion: Finding My Way Back to Faith\u201d is set to release on June 16th<\/sup>, the vice president, 41, revealed on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

This book will be released 10 years after his bestselling memoir \u201cHillbilly Elegy,\u201d which chronicles Vance\u2019s upbringing in a poor, white working-class family in the Rust Belt, and his climb from Ohio to Yale Law School as he worked toward the American Dream.<\/p>\n

\u201cCommunion\u201d focuses more on Vance\u2019s religious growth, capturing his upbringing as a protestant Christian, his leaving the church to become an atheist as a young adult, and his conversion to Catholicism in 2019.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe story of how I regained my faith, of course, only happened because I had lost it to begin with,\u201d Vance, 41, said in a statement. \u201cThe interesting question that hangs over this book, and over my mind, is why I ever strayed from the path. Why the Christian faith of my youth failed to properly take root.\u201d<\/p>\n

HarperCollins, the book\u2019s publisher, characterized the work as \u201ca spiritual exploration of what it means to be a Christian across the seasons of Vance\u2019s life\u2014as a child, a young man, a husband, a father, and a leader.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201c\u2019Communion\u2019 will speak to so many searching for faith, connection, and meaning in their lives,\u201d stated President and Publisher of the Harper Group Jonathan Burnham. \u201cThe Vice President\u2019s deeply heartfelt story of doubt and regained belief resonates far beyond politics, offering a moving reflection on the questions that define this moment in American public life.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Vance has been working on the 304-page book since his Catholic conversion in 2019, according to the Associated Press<\/em>. Other vice presidents, including former Vice President Mike Pence, have also published books, but Vance would be the first in modern history to do so while actively serving as the second-in-command.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

The announcement is likely to escalate speculation about a possible bid for the presidency in 2028. Though he has said he\u2019ll hold out on making a decision on 2028 until after this year\u2019s midterm elections, polling shows him as the favorite for the GOP nomination should he seek it.<\/p>\n

Those seeking a presidential nomination often release a book before beginning to campaign in order to increase name-recognition and solidify their message early on. Several potential 2028 Democrat candidates have already announced book releases, including former Vice President Kamala Harris<\/a>, California Governor Gavin Newsom (D-Calif.), Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear (D-Ky.) and Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro (D-Penn.).<\/p>\n
