It\u2019s been nearly five years since the Walt Disney Company leaned into the corporate vogue of diversity, equity, and inclusion across its theme parks.<\/p>\n

Now, some parkgoers think they\u2019re hearing something different \u2014 something familiar.<\/p>\n

DEI dream<\/h2>\n

Back in 2021, Disney confirmed<\/a> to Newsweek that it would phase out the classic greeting, \u201cLadies and gentlemen, boys and girls,\u201d from announcements at Magic Kingdom. In its place came a more neutral line: \u201cGood evening, dreamers of all ages,\u201d part of a broader push to make park language more \u201cinclusive.\u201d<\/p>\n

At the time, the change was treated as small but symbolic \u2014 another piece of Disney\u2019s effort to align itself with the cultural priorities of the moment.<\/p>\n

Now, a clip<\/a> circulating on X suggests the company may be quietly loosening its grip on that approach. In the video, a monorail announcement clearly addresses riders as \u201cladies and gentlemen\u201d while instructing them to hold the handrail \u2014 a phrase that, until recently, had been scrubbed from official park language.<\/p>\n

Old times<\/h2>\n

No announcement has been made. No policy has been reversed, at least publicly.<\/p>\n

But at a place like Disney, where every word is scripted and nothing is accidental, even a small change can signal something larger.<\/p>\n

For longtime visitors, it\u2019s not really about the phrasing itself. It\u2019s about what it represents: a return to tradition \u2014 or at least a pause in the steady rewriting of it.<\/p>\n
