During a bloody killing spree in Georgia, a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) employee was murdered by a convicted felon immigrant who was naturalized under former President Joe Biden’s administration.
Lauren Bullis, an auditor with the Department of Homeland Security’s Office of Inspector General, was shot and stabbed to death on Monday morning while walking her dog in Atlanta, Georgia, DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin revealed. Police identified the suspect as 26-year-old Olaolukitan Adon Abel.
Additionally in his random rampage, Adon Abel killed a 31-year-old woman outside of a Checkers restaurant.
Secretary Mullin described Adon Abel as “a 26-year old, born in the United Kingdom, who was naturalized by the Biden Administration in 2022.”
“[He] now stands accused of murdering employee Lauren Bullis by shooting and stabbing her while she walked her dog,” he said.
Chief Brandon Gurley of the Brookhaven Police Department described a related shooting in his jurisdiction that occurred between the two killings. Just before 2:00 a.m., 911 received reports of a shooting, and officers arrived on scene within three minutes.
Gurley said police rendered aid to a 49-year-old man, whom he described as part of the “unhoused community,” who had been shot multiple times on a sidewalk in front of the Cherokee Shopping Plaza. He was transported to a hospital and remains in critical condition. The shooter allegedly fired from a vehicle while the victim was sleeping, Gurley revealed. The police chief also described the attack as random.
Police said they were able to connect the three attacks after determining the suspect used the same vehicle—a silver Volkswagen Jetta—in each incident.
Chief Padrick said the investigation remains active and ongoing, though there is no ongoing threat to the community. He added that investigators are working to determine the motive and circumstances surrounding the crimes.
Mullin claimed Adon Abel possessed a prior criminal record that includes sexual battery, battery against a police officer, obstruction, assault with a deadly weapon and vandalism.
He also referenced the other shootings, condemning the accused.
“These acts of pure evil have devastated our Department and my prayers are with the families of the victims,” Mullin said.
The two other victims have not yet been identified.
